We know how hard it is to convince patients to eat right and exercise. We try to explain that our hard work, knowledge and commitment can only do so much if they don't hold up their end of the bargain. State government is not much different. It expects cardiologists to deliver quality care at a reasonable cost, but fails to create an even playing field that allows us to deliver the care our patients deserve.

For too long hospitals, trial attorneys and even our colleagues in radiology have convinced elected officials that they know what is best for OUR patients. Enough is enough.

The Maryland Chapter of the ACC has decided to fight back. With our MDACCPAC we can support the campaigns of pro-cardiology candidates who play a key role in passing health care policy in Annapolis. It means cardiologists — not trial lawyers, hospitals or radiologists — will speak for cardiologists. It means we will have the resources to deliver our message of quality, patient centered care to the Maryland General Assembly. But we can't do this without you.
