The American College of Cardiology launched the Cardiac Care Team (CCA) member community customized to meet the distinct needs of these members in 2003. Since then, a vibrant and growing community comprised of Registered Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants from Practice and Hospital settings has established itself within the ACC. CCA members can join the Maryland Chapter by paying dues of $30 (payment should be made directly to the ACC Resource Center at 800-253-4636 after October 1, 2007).
There are plenty of opportunities for CCA members to be involved in chapter activities. CCA members are welcome to all events and are encouraged to volunteer (a-mail (jennifer@marylandacc.org to get involved).
The chapter leadership is dedicated to bringing CCA member benefits and participation at the chapter level. If you are a CCA member and have ideas on programs that would benefit CCAs in the state of Maryland, please contact Jennifer Ray Beckman, Executive Director (jennifer@marylandacc.org) or Liz Schilliing, CCA Representative to the MDACC Council.
CCAs are part of the Maryland Chapter and receive all benefits of physician members including a few of the special benefits below:
· Discounted registration at chapter events
· Ex-officio CCA member on the chapter council to ensure input on all leadership decisions
· A CCA is included in the planning of the annual meeting; our 2007 meeting topic focused exclusively on the best practices of team care in the hospital and ambulatory setting.
· CME and CE credits at educational events
· E-mail and letter communications about educational and professional opportunities and issues
